My Portfolio
We were asked to make a layout using a typeface and using the name of the typeface. I experimented with Helvetica and Arial. After doing some experiments I finally decided to make a poster with Arial which is the first image. I chose Arian because I liked the simplicity of it.
Above are all examples of onomatopoeia which are often used in comic books.
For our typography module we were given a design company where we had to research on. I was given the brand house company, we were asked to make a layout to communicate what their company does.

Below is a simple design I made with colored paper spelling the word typography. Having seen the paper gallery I became inspired to do an experiment with paper.
To support my own creative work I looked and Craig Wards work.

Below is a book that I learnt after attending a book binding class. I had not realised how simple it can be and I am very happy with the outcome.
For my Live Projects module I made a handmade book consisting of John Keats romantic poems. I also added a my own personal touch by adding a Ribbon to make it seem like a romantic book

I was really interesting by the style of the story of Persepolis so I made some sketches for my Visual Narratives module.
On the left are screenshots of my opening sequence for the film 'The Birds'. I was inspired by Alfred Hitchcocks work which is why I picked one of his films. I was inspired by the pace and the simple style of the film so I filmed birds in a park and added black and white to make it more ominous to match the horror genre of this film.
We were each put in groups of three were we were given a topic to focus on. Are group had to focus on typography. We then each decided to look at a specific area within typography, I chose to look at letterpress as I found it the most interesting because of the mechanism and the style it gives. I also like the way it is really detailed and neat.
Here is an experiment of a book layout I designed.
And below I experimented with other materials.
